Nourishing the Field: Through Your Own Lens® Fall Retreat–SOLD OUT

If you’ve been operating at — or beyond — your full capacity, this retreat is designed for you.
Our nervous systems live in a constant state of threat as we hustle to meet or exceed expectations at work. We struggle to keep up with the daily barrage of information. We care for the people we love, often at the expense of our own well-being. We aim our fire extinguishers at a dizzying array of brush fires, hoping to prevent a rampage of costly destruction.
All the while, rarely — if ever — asking for help.
Our stress responses have become amplified. We fight more. We run from strong emotions. We redouble our efforts to please or placate. Or we shut down in exhaustion, defeated. Joyful moments grow few and far between, and — ironically — the more we try to do, the less effective we become.
Capacity isn’t the problem. Isolation is.
Jessie and I have discovered that deep, nurturing friendship is what gives us the resilience to grow, heal, and thrive even in our most difficult moments. This is your invitation to join us as we gather a small community of heart-centered women to explore what real relational support looks like — and why it’s the most soothing antidote to the overwhelm we all feel.
For most women, this kind of relationship isn’t easy or instinctual. Our past experience with women — our mothers, sisters, friends — has left its share of wounds. We’ve been raised to compete with other women, to prove we can do it all without breaking a sweat. It’s a bar that’s unattainable, and it leaves us feeling like we’re not enough.
What if we met, as Rumi suggests, in the field beyond rightdoing and wrongdoing? What if we offered strong relational support instead of striving to keep up with or surpass one another? What if we learned to lift each other up no matter what we’re each carrying — because we finally have the resources and the support to stay focused on what the world actually needs: strong, capable women doing their best work, from a full cup instead of an empty one?
What we’ll do together
Through Your Own Lens® integrates photography, journaling, somatic insights and guided group connection to help you see yourself — and your capacity — differently. Over two days, you’ll:
- Put down the to-do list and pick up a camera, using photography as a doorway into self-reflection rather than performance
- Journal in community, with prompts designed to surface what overwhelm has been drowning out
- Engage in yoga and somatic exercises that unlock the unconscious information your body has been holding about how you’re really operating — often long before your mind catches up
- Practice the relational skills that turn other women into allies instead of competitors
- Leave with a felt sense of what it means to be held, not just to hold everything for everyone else
Join me, and my beloved TYOL co-facilitator Jessie Rhines, this fall as we begin to shed what’s no longer needed, making way for the quiet, inward momentum of winter. Experience sisterhood the way it was meant to be — where friendship isn’t one more thing to manage, but the very thing that restores you.
