Winter Gathering: Through Your Own Lens®: SOLD OUT

Winter.
The twinkle and glow of the holidays sustain me in December. I can’t help but feel uplifted when I see the cheerful strings of light adorning homes and trees, and reflecting on the nearby water. But come January, it becomes harder for me to navigate the gray days, the endless cold, and the long, dark nights.
I long to welcome the natural order of things.
To embrace what Winter has to offer rather than resist it.
To accept that my energy level will be reduced as my human body remembers a time when food became scarce, reduced to whatever was stored from the Fall harvest, and we shared what we had to make sure everyone survived.
To acknowledge the accumulated grief of a difficult year.
To gather the women whose curiosity and love of learning about themselves leads them to insights that serve everyone in the group.
To intentionally move my body, summon dormant wisdom, share my experience.
February’s Through Your Own Lens® Winter Gathering is my offering to you—to explore what it means to be with everything the Winter evokes, whether you’re feeling inspired or stuck, optimistic or fearful, connected or isolated—in the company of extraordinary women.
Let Through Your Own Lens® Work Its Magic
Lewis Carroll, whose trippy Alice in Wonderland remains one of my favorite imaginative romps ever, wrote that “our most original and unexpected ideas arrive not when we strain the mind at the problem, but when we relax it and shift the beam of attention to something else entirely; it is then that the unconscious shines its sidewise gleam on an unexpected solution no deliberate effort could have produced.”
The idea that comes to you seemingly out of nowhere. The sudden moment of understanding that arrives when you least expect it. The surprising ease of understanding yourself. These serendipities are the gifts of my signature retreat, Through Your Own Lens®.
By focusing your gaze on the visual world that immediately surrounds you, your present moment intuition is free to guide you, effortlessly, into whatever possibilities exist for you going forward.
The method I’ve developed has reliably helped participants instigate and navigate change, reach higher, and find meaningful connections with like-minded women (and a few men!) for 15 years. In 2025, yogini/somatic therapist Jessie Rhines joined me to add a movement and breathwork dimension to TYOL’s generative processes.
Join us.
This is your invitation to join us for an uplifting, life-affirming retreat at my warm-and-cozy home in Annapolis, on February 21 & 22, 2026 for our Winter Gathering. We’ll meet from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
- We’ll sit by a roaring fire in the living room, and practice yoga in the sunroom.
- You’ll practice visual meditations and capture photos that will guide our explorations, with access to nature trails in the woods, through the meadow, and along the beach (all accessible within steps of our back door).
- We’ll explore what it means to be human during a season that reminds us of the need to plan for our physical needs and to turn inward for our spiritual and emotional health.
- We’ll connect with our spiritual selves, and feel grounded and whole after a special cacão ceremony led by a special guest facilitator.
- We’ll face our ancestors’ survival fears, as they’ve been passed down generationally for millennia in the form of scarcity behavior, with courage and insight.
- And we’ll change our scarcity narratives as we eat healthy seasonal food, connect with Nature, wallow joyfully in the shared wisdom of soulful women, and laugh—a lot—to balance our moments of grief and concern.
Register today! (We have 8 spots total, and 6 are already spoken for.)
We will gather for one virtual meeting before the retreat to introduce ourselves and a second virtual meeting after the retreat to integrate our experiences together.
Please note: if you are experiencing significant financial stress (having difficulty meeting basic needs like housing, food, or medical care, accessing stable housing, or are unemployed) please ask about the availability of tiered pricing or a payment plan.
