Seeing Beyond Uncertainty: Through Your Own Lens
November 14 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm$249
What Fresh Hell is This?
“I’m completely overwhelmed.”
“I’ve been really unproductive lately.
“I’m so out of sorts!”
Sound familiar? Of course it does.
We’ve all been feeling the impact of living with massive uncertainty. We don’t know when the pandemic will be over, or what the world will be like in the months and years to come. Right now, nobody knows what day it is, much less how things will look tomorrow.
These colossal unknowns only add to the complexity of our normal load of unanswered questions about work, relationships, and living a meaningful life. From the day we’re born, we face questions no one can answer and situations for which we can’t predict the outcome. We scratch our heads and mutter, “WTF?”
Or, if you’re Dorothy Parker, “What fresh hell is this?”
Our brains prefer order and certainty, reliable patterns, comforting routines. We’re not wired for this onslaught of ambiguity.
But there is a way to feel less untethered, and more aligned with yourself. If you like that sort of thing.
Seeing Beyond Uncertainty
Researchers say that the ability to shift perspective quickly when we’re challenged by difficult circumstances is a crucial skill for living successful and happy lives.
November’s online Through Your Own Lens® retreat is designed to teach you a reliable method for perspective-shifting, so you can regain a feeling of groundedness whenever unpredictability threatens to run you off the rails.
The poet Rainer Maria Rilke wrote, “… be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart…try to love the questions themselves.” Perhaps the questions we should be asking ourselves aren’t about what will happen, but about how we show up as we live our daily lives without the answers.
What am I supposed to learn from the unanswered questions? What’s the best way for me to proceed in my own life, until the answers become clear?
Join me (virtually, via Zoom) for Seeing Beyond Uncertainty: Through Your Own Lens® on November 14, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn how to see beyond the unknowns, and live more contentedly in the present.
On this virtual retreat, you’ll join a small gathering of participants, live online to…
…do short, guided journaling exercises to clarify the unanswered questions you’re living with
…head outdoors on a photo assignment to capture specific images that intrigue and captivate you
…come back together for a deep dive into what your images reveal about what you’re meant to know, and how you’re meant to move forward in these extraordinarily uncertain times
…end your retreat experience feeling more connected to yourself, and to a community of others you’ll want to stay in touch with.
Full disclosure: I’ll be providing practical tools, salty language, very cool people, and plenty of gentle humor while you learn to shift perspective with ease.
